Project Description

Here are the instructions to make three out of our 14 different cards using a Butterfly Silhouette Punch.

All that you need to make these cards is available from Arty Crafty.

Red & Blue card

Needed:
12.5×12.5 cm white blank card
12.5×12.5 cm Maraschino red bazzill paper
10.5×10.5 cm Admiral blue bazill paper
10×10 cm Craft brown paper
Rejoice paper fre106
Random collection denim paper rd975
2 mm mini mounting pads 5×5 mm
Happy birthday stamp
Memento rhubarb stalk ink
Memento Paris dusk ink
Hi-tack glue
Round corner punch
Silhouette butterfly punch

Instructions:
1. Cut the the blue, red and craft brown paper to size.
2. Stamp ‘happy birthday’ numerous times evenly onto the craft brown card using the red ink. Pick one of the stamped happy birthdays and stamp over it with the blue ink, slightly offset.
3. Cut all the corners using the round corner punch (blue, red, bcraft brown and blank card).
4. Cut out one butterfly on each pattern paper. Join the two butterflies by glueing the two bodies together. Fold the top butterfly’s wings upwards. You can use a ruler to make a straight fold.
5. Glue the two butterflies onto the craft brown paper.
6. Glue the red paper onto the front of the blank card.
7. Mount the blue paper onto the card using the mounting pads.
8. Mount the craft brown paper onto the card using the mounting pads.

 

Blue card

Needed:
12.5×12.5 cm white blank card
10.5×10.5 cm Admiral blue bazill paper
Swimming pool paper (pp-1169)
Hi-tack glue
Round corner punch
Silhouette butterfly punch
Happy birthday stamp
Versacolor white ink

Instructions

1. Cut out a butterfly from the blue paper. Roughly  1 cm from the bottom right hand corner.
2. Cut the blue paper into a 12.5×12.5 cm square, keeping the cut out butterfly in the lower right hand corner of the square.
3. Cut the corners with the round corner punch on both the blue square and the blank card.
4. Stamp ‘happy birthday’ onto the blue card with white ink.
5. Glue the blue card onto the front of the blank card.
6. Cut out a butterfly of the swimming pool paper. Fold its wings upwards.
7. Glue the back of its body and line it up to the cut out body on the blue card. Glue down.

 

Kraft Card

Needed:
10.5×14.5 cm craft brown blank card
10.5×10.5 cm Admiral blue bazill paper
Rejoice paper fre106
Hi-tack glue
Silhouette butterfly punch
Lace ribbon antique blue
3 mm satin ribbon coral (col 22)

1. Cut out two butterflies on blue paper. Save two of the circles/hearts for the head.
2. Cut out one butterfly on rejoice paper. Save one of the circles/hearts for the head.
3. Fold the wings upwards. You can use a ruler to get a straight fold.
4. Shorten the front of the blank card by cutting off about 1 cm from the right-hand edge.
5. Glue down the blue lace trim along the cut off edge.
6. Glue down the coral ribbon along the edge of the lace.
7. Glue the back of the butterfly bodies and stick them to the front of your card.
8. Glue the saved circles/hearts as butterfly heads onto your card.
